M-ACCESS from Mitsubshi Heavy Industries
Smart interface design for greater energy efficiency
The task
M-ACCESS, the remote monitoring and control system for air-conditioning systems from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, improves and simplifies the management of HVAC systems in public and commercial buildings.
The challenge: The large volume of data and the complex information relationships within large building structures must be prepared in a way that makes them quickly accessible, visually clear, and easy to use.
The goal: For users in the European market, M-ACCESS is intended to provide a reliable foundation for greater energy efficiency.
The solution
We designed an interface for M-ACCESS that forms the basis of the visual brand language for all of the brand’s digital products. To achieve this, we not only analyzed users and usage contexts, but also incorporated the brand values and corporate goals of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The result is an interface design that visualizes information clearly and effectively, thereby reducing the product’s complexity. As part of this process, we also created an initial modular design system for the company, which future digital products can build upon. This creates synergies for future products and ensures a level of design quality that consistently reflects the brand’s performance.
