The air conditioning systems of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries can be found in almost all world regions. The challenge was to develop a design that would find approval at a global scale while at the same time functioning in its own right and fitting into Mitsubishi’s corporate design.
We focused on design-strategic differentiation through benchmarking as well as close collaboration with stakeholders across very different cultures. The result: a universal design that works for different markets, has received the Gold A’ Design Award and conveys the brand values of Mitsubishi. We provided the thinnest panel on the market with bevels and precise edges to make it look even slimmer and communicate the state-of-the-art technology, and the air inlet’s honeycomb grid pattern design gives a distinctive look to the air conditioner.
