For more than half a century, the medium-sized company Heinrich Schümann has been a leader in the development and production of hydraulic coil forming machines that are used all over the world. In 2023, we took on the task of developing a design language that fits the Schümann brand. The aim was to make the reliable high quality of the machine even more visible through precise design. The 2025 coil forming machine was to be the start of a successful collaboration between zweigrad and Heinrich Schümann, leading to the development of an expressive visual brand language.

The 2025 coil forming machine offers new technology in a new look. The design language created by zweigrad communicates the brand’s strengths: modern, technical, precise and robust. The focus is on cubic shapes that are easy to structure and arrange. And a series of recurring, transferable design elements. For example, the integrated ventilation grilles, various control elements and the striking and precise joint pattern. The Schümann blue colour is consciously used as an accent. Clearly visible: the name of this outstanding product. The unique design inspires employees and customers, promotes brand recognition, is easy to implement and can be easily transferred to other machines. Schümann is an excellent example of how design can add real value even for medium-sized companies producing machines in small quantities.
