We started integrating the design of the machines of the new Vossloh Rail Services division into the Vossloh Group’s corporate design as early as two years ago. The special challenge here was the fact that this small series production requires welded constructions made of purely planar surfaces, resulting in major design constraints.

With the design of the HSG-2 high-speed grinding train, the company’s first track maintenance machine, we are setting the bar and have given Vossloh Rail Services a distinctive, recognisable face. The powerful, dynamic design represents the key characteristics of this machine: performance and speed. And this effect was also achieved with the models that followed and that received several design awards. Thanks to its machine design, Vossloh Rail Services has become clearly visible within the Group – we have created a brand within the brand.

Over the years, we have developed a comprehensive design strategy and anchored it within the company. We support corporate processes and visualise content for internal and external communications. All of our designs follow a holistic approach. Take, for instance, the Smart Maintenance app: with its intuitive user interface for scheduling rail maintenance, it is just as much part of the product portfolio’s design family as the grinding trains and milling machines.
